About

Heather Smith was born in the San Francisco Bay Area in Mountain View, CA. She graduated from University of California at San Diego, where she harbored dreams of becoming a fashion stylist. Although a California girl at heart, Heather pursued her career in the fashion world and moved to New York City where she landed her first stylist job as an assistant to former Vogue/Elle magazine fashion stylist Inge Fonteyne. Here she gained experience working with some of the world’s top photographers Michael Thompson, Mark Abrahams, Walter Chin, Ben Watts, Russel James, Alexi Lubomirski, Peggy Sirota, Stewart Shining and Greg Cadell. She also worked in Victoria’s Secret ad campaigns and was Inge’s right hand in styling Talbot’s catalog.  Heather has helped style celebrities Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Jessica-Parker, Shania Twain, Mary J Blige, Martha Stewart and Jennifer Lopez as well as Mary J Blige, P Diddy, and Cassie with stylist Marni Senofonte.

After branching out on her own, Heather was hired as the Talbots Web Fashion Editor where she worked for 4 years to develop the brand, styling, advertising, lookbooks, and web.  Her other clients included Stevel Allen, Adrianna Papell, Aidon Maddox, and TROA jeans, collaborating with top photographers Jason Brownrigg, Diego Uchitel, Jefferey Jones, and Marian Sell. Heather’s work has been featured in magazines InStyle, People Stylewatch, Qvest, Deutsch, and HOLA, Imute, ELEGANT, and Solstice magazine.

After a decade of conquering the New York fashion scene, Heather returned to her roots on the west coast where she is based in Santa Monica, CA. Living in LA, Heather is now styling celebrity Alessandra Ambrosio and commercial clients include Target, NYDJ, KOA Swim, Perverse Sunglasses, and Lost + Wander.
